Power Status & Trends.

Power Grid Corporation of India has a switch gear system at Kadamtala, Jiribam to feed the electrict power from Loktak Hydel Project to North Eastern Power grid system at Poilapool in Cachar District of Assam. The electrict power is supplied to Jiribam town by 11kv. Line from Poilapool in Assam. There is adequate and sufficient power supply in the town.

   Transportation System Status & Trends

Roads is the major means of movement of the people & goods of Jiribam region. The inadequacy of transportation & communication facilities poses certain problem for development of the region in various fields.

Jiribam and its region is entirely endowed with linking facilities, the NH-53 passes through the town thereby providing access to each side from its hearth location (i.e., Imphal & Silchar). The town has a number of subsidiary roads like state highways, district roads & village roads diverging from the town. The state Government is taking effort for the execution & improvement of new roads. Jiribam town is connected by Nh-53 to Imphal & Silchar. J.T. (Manbahadur) Road links Jiribam with Tipaimukh in Churachandpur District. There are other State High Way, ODR & IVR village roads like Kadamtala road, Champanagar road, Aglapur road , Kalinagar road etc

The railhead at Jiribam connect the Manipur with the rest of India via Silchar  having a length of 54 km.

The worth mentioning roads within the state through the town which serves for movementr of traffic are as below:

i)         Jiribam to Imphal       : NH-53 having a total length of 223 km is the main road connecting rest of the state.

ii)        Jiribam to Tipaimukh : J.T. Road (Manbahadur Road) connect Jiribam with the southern part of the state with a total road length of 98 km.

iii)       Jiribam to Silchar       : NH-53( New Cachar Road) having a length of 45 Km. it is the only road which  connect Jiribam with other state of India via Assam state.

iv)       Jiribam to Silchar Rail Road :  This is the only Railhead in Manipur, which connect

Manipur with other part of India by railway, having a length of 54 Km.

The average rate of vehicle moving in Jiribam town is maximum in the period between 9.30 to 10.30 AM, as many as about 800 vehicles and become about 500 nos. in between 11.00 to 12.00

          Noon. There are a good number of different types of vehicles in Jiribam town where two- wheeler  & three wheeler holds a plurality. There are number of Autos, Sumos, Buses serving within Jiribam town and other intra-district and inter- State buses and maxi cab for public movement. Jiribam is the main receiving & distributing center of goods for Jiribam sub-Division.

The majority of the roads are much undulated and needs regular repairs owing to dilapidation as it effects vehicle movement, which further results into delaying & damage to vehicles and other sorts of road accident.
